Eligibility Criteria for School Connect Online Olympiad

Age: Students of classes 1 to 12th are eligible to appear for the 1st level Olympiads. Students who qualify for the 2nd level exam include.

(a) Top 5% of students’ class wise, who appear for the 1st level exam,

(b) State wise top 25 rank holders class wise, and

(c) Class toppers from each participating school where at least 10 students from a class appear in the exam & scores 50% qualifying marks. Students from classes 1 and 2 are not required to appear for the 2nd level exam and are ranked based on their performance in the first level exam.

How to apply

  • Class: You need to be a student in Classes 1 to 12 to be eligible for this exam.
  • Boards: You must be a student of SSC, ICSE or CBSE boards.
  • Qualifying for second level examination:

The top 5% of students (class-wise) also benchmark percentile score who appear for the first level exam.

Class toppers from each participating school; where at least 10 students participate and score a minimum of 50%.

  • Year of attempt: As long as you’re a student enrolled in any of Classes 1 to 12, you can apply for  SCO-ISO (International Science Olympiad) and SCO-IMO(International Maths Olympiad)
  • Number of attempts: You can only attempt Year of attempt: As long as you’re a student enrolled in any of Classes 1 to 12, you can apply for SCO-ISO (International Science Olympiad) and SCO-IMO(International Maths Olympiad) once in every academic year.

Registration for International Science Olympiad and International Maths Olympiad

Here is the registration process for SCO-ISO (International Science Olympiad) and SCO-IMO(International Maths Olympiad) :

  1. The prospectus containing the registration forms is sent to all schools registered with the Science Olympiad Foundation.
  2. Unregistered schools can request a prospects by sending an email to https://forms.gle/o6weYW8kfQpc5ULV9 or email to olympiad@schoolconnectonline.com
  3. Your school's coordinating teacher will generate students' roll numbers as per the guidelines given.
  4. A nominal participation fee is charged from each student in your school.

Results and cut-off

Qualification for International Science Olympiad and International Maths Olympiad

First level examination

Based on your performance in the first level exam, you are given a rank. This rank determines whether you qualify for the second level exam or not.

If two students score the same marks, ranks are awarded to the student scoring higher marks in priority sections as mentioned below:

If students score the same marks in all sections, they are given the same rank.

Second level examination

International Science Olympiad and International Maths Olympiad in the second level exam analytical skill decision making skills

In case two students score the same marks, their ranks are decided on the basis of the below points:

  • Higher marks scored in higher priority sections (Analytical Skill)
  • Total marks scored in the first level exam

If two students still score the same marks, they are given the same rank.

Level 2: The level 2 is conducted for students of class 3 to class 12. The qualifiers to second round would include the following:

  • Top 5% of candidates class wise who appear for the 1st  level exam. Due weightage to marks scored in different sections will be given. Each section is accorded separate weightage.
  • Zonewise top 25 rank holders class wise.
  • Class topper where at least 10 students from a class appear in the exam & scores 50% qualifying marks.
